FAQ

How do I get started taking 3D Photos?

It's really easy! All you need is a camera like the one on your phone.  Take one picture. Slide right. Take a second picture.  That's it. 3D software such as i3Dsteroid does all the work for you and creates 3D photos in the format of your choosing.

How do I view the 3D Photos that I take?

There are lots of ways to view 3D. The app can export your photos in the format you prefer.

Red Cyan Anaglyph 3D:  All you need is an inexpensive pair of cardboard Red Cyan Glasses.  It is a great way to experience 3D easily, but some people want a higher quality experience.

Side by Side Stereograph:  Think of the old View-Masters...

You can get a stereo viewer like the Loreo Maxi for prints or the OWL Stereoscopic Viewer to view pictures directly on your phone.   There are also stereo lorgnettes that are excellent for this purpose.

Note:  Google Cardboard VR viewers do not work correctly as it is designed for a smaller image.

You can freeview the side by side stereo photo.

My newer iPhone has a Spatial Photo and Video feature. How can I view the 3D photos and videos it takes?

One way is to get an Apple Vision Pro. :)

Realistically though, until the price reaches a level that is attainable for most folks, the best way to view the Spatial Photos and Videos it takes is with the Spatialify app.

With the app, you can view or convert the Spatial Photos Videos in Full Side by Side or Anaglyph.

Another option to enjoy the spatial photos from the iPhone is to get a pair of XR type glasses like the Viture Pro XR glasses or Xreal etc.

Personally, I enjoy freeviewing the images directly on the iPhone with Spatialify in the field and love viewing it on the Viture Pro XR glasses at home.
